About Flirt Fest

Flirt Fest was created by Flirtatious Fiction, an independent romance bookshop in Ayr, with one simple idea — to bring even more romance readers, authors and bookish businesses together.

Since opening our doors, we’ve loved seeing just how strong and welcoming the romance-reading community is. From author visits and signings to in-store collaborations and reader events, some of our favourite moments have come from giving people the chance to connect over the books they love

But there’s only so much mischief we can fit between our bookshelves!

So, Flirt Fest was born.

We wanted to create something bigger — a relaxed, fun and welcoming romance event where readers can meet the authors behind their favourite stories, discover new books, shop from brilliant independent vendors and spend a few hours surrounded by people who understand the very serious business of an ever-growing TBR.

Flirt Fest is an extension of everything we love about Flirtatious Fiction: books, community, discovering new authors, supporting small businesses and creating a space where romance readers can simply enjoy being romance readers.

And, naturally, we’re hoping you leave with at least one new book boyfriend.
